A large desert island far to the west of Spira's mainland, Bikanel Island was the location of the Al Bhed's home until it was attacked by the Guado. In Final Fantasy X, Bikanel is first visited by the party when they are swept there from Macalania by Sin. Rikku tells the party that Yuna is probably being held on the island at the Al Bhed's base, "Home". However, when they reach Home, they discover that it is under attack by the Guado and learn that Yuna has been kidnapped. In the midst of the chaos, the party meets Cid, Rikku's father, who decides that there is no way to save Home and—after gathering the survivors in the salvaged airship, Fahrenheit—destroys it using the airship's missiles.
